Start by naming the component you are buying. Recycled content in a webbing strap does not automatically describe the buckle, thread or the whole finished product. Specify the fibre, width, thickness, colour and intended use on the purchase sheet.
Ask for records you can match
Request the specification and the supporting records for the lot you are buying. Match the supplier name, material description and lot reference to your order. If a record covers a different colour or shipment, ask how it relates to the material you will receive.
Approve a physical reference
Check the sample for hand feel, colour, edge finish and compatibility with your hardware. Agree the tolerances and the wording you can support. Keep the approved swatch and the lot record together for repeat orders.
